- Bosworth Battlefield Country Park at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre ~ One of the Midlands premier historical sites, Bosworth Battlefield witnessed the death of a King and saw the end of the 30 year power struggle for the throne of England.
- Great Central Railway ~ The Great Central Railway is Britain's only double track main line steam railway. Train rides are available every weekend and Bank Holiday throughout the year and daily in May through to September. Loughborough Station houses a museum, working signal box and an historic locomotion collection. You can even drive a steam train under expert supervision.

- Conkers Discovery Zone at Conkers ~ Conkers, the award-winning attraction in the Heart of the National Forest, is a unique mix of indoor and outdoor experiences. The Discovery and Waterside Centres have over 100 interactive exhibits including a simulated tree top canopy walk, and our new enchanted forest.
- Wistow Maize Maze at Wistow Maze ~ Winner of Leicestershire's "Best Visitor Attraction 2004 / 2005". Hours of fun for all the family. Follow the fun quiz trail and collect hidden clues whilst you wander through 8 acres of living maize crop sprinkled with sunflowers. The maze has over 3 miles of paths and incorporates high level bridges and viewing towers to give visitors stunning 3D panoramic views of the maze and surrounding countryside.
- Donington Grand Prix Collection ~ The world's largest collection of Grand Prix cars. Includes McLaren, Ferrari, Jordan, BRM, Vanwall, Lotus and many more.

- Abbey Pumping Station ~ Leicester's Museum of Science & Technology is located in a late 19th century sewage pumping station and houses rare examples of working beam steam engines.

- Spark Childrens Art Festival. The Spark Children's Arts Festival brings you 14 days of top quality theatre, dance, music and visual arts for children aged 0-13 years. - Leicester Early Music Festival. A celebration of music written between 1200 and 1750, aimed at people of all ages, particularly families. Concerts, workshops, guided walks and exhibitions take place around the city centre. MAY/JUNE 2008.
- Leicester Pride Festival. A flamboyant celebration of gay culture and lifestyles. The colourful Pride Parade meets in Town Hall Square before marching through city centre streets up to Victoria Park. Entertainment here includes music, comedy and cabaret, with a children’s activity area, fun fair, bars and food & drink stalls.
