  • Bosworth Battlefield Country Park at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre ~ One of the Midlands premier historical sites, Bosworth Battlefield witnessed the death of a King and saw the end of the 30 year power struggle for the throne of England.
  • Great Central Railway ~ The Great Central Railway is Britain's only double track main line steam railway. Train rides are available every weekend and Bank Holiday throughout the year and daily in May through to September. Loughborough Station houses a museum, working signal box and an historic locomotion collection. You can even drive a steam train under expert supervision.

  • Leicester Early Music Festival. A celebration of music written between 1200 and 1750, aimed at people of all ages, particularly families. Concerts, workshops, guided walks and exhibitions take place around the city centre. MAY/JUNE 2008.
  • Leicester Pride Festival. A flamboyant celebration of gay culture and lifestyles. The colourful Pride Parade meets in Town Hall Square before marching through city centre streets up to Victoria Park. Entertainment here includes music, comedy and cabaret, with a children’s activity area, fun fair, bars and food & drink stalls.
