- Hertford Art Exhibition. Hertford Art Society is staging its 55th Annual Open Exhibition at Cowbridge Halls. The two-week exhibition features hundreds of works of art and sculpture and is open daily from 11am to 9pm with free. This is the first time that the exhibition has been held at Cowbridge Halls, which is just a few minutes walk from the town centre. Hertford Art Society was formed in 1953 and the annual exhibition attracts entries from all over the country. Regular contributors include local artists Trevor Chamberlain, Robin Mackervoy and Ronald Maddox. 6th 19th May 2008
- Hatfield House. Where Elizabethan history began. Visit this stunning Jacobean house within its own great Park and see the surviving wing of the Tudor Royal Palace, where Elizabeth I spent much of her childhood.
